We'd love to see a girl wear a guys shirt as a dress. The main element in all of this is the shared wardrobe, which we hope will make men and women wear the same products. One said a Dsquared2 hat, so he's getting that, and another will get a really nice high-end white tee. The contestants each get a gift box in the bedroom and for this I asked them what they'd really wanted. So on that press day I really got to know what people will want to wear. But so many of the boys said no way, and some of them have really cool personal styles. It's been really interesting as a lot of people, including those involved in the process, will associate Love Island with white skinny jeans. The four themes are “Love Me Forever”, which comprises pieces intended to be worn today or in 20 years, “Dopamine Dressing”, which boasts really colourful pieces, “Blurred Lines”, which is to do with gender-neutral dressing, and “Y2K”, which is pastel-heavy. We had a press day with ITV, which is where I met the 18 islanders and showed them some ideas for the clothes. With eBay's overwhelming amount of product we decided to make things easier by coming up with four product categories that would make up the shared wardrobe in the villa. What can we expect the Islanders to wear? ITV also wanted to move away from fast fashion, which is hugely exciting. As a company eBay has always thought about who its partners should be and how it can reach new people, and this seemed like a natural and exciting relationship. This was about two months ago and it's been non-stop since - I was asked to source pre-loved clothing across menswear and womenswear for Love Island. Unfortunately nothing came from it, but four years later eBay got in touch with me about working with them for an upcoming secret project. I was the fashion director at Cosmopolitan a few years ago and we had been talking about doing something together, as I've been using eBay for over 20 years.
